Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, an upcoming American drama film directed by George C. Wolfe and written by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, based on the play of the same name by August Wilson, has received its first official trailer on Netflix.

Along with Viola Davis as Rainey, the film features the final role by late actor Chadwick Boseman. Boseman will play an ambitious trumpeter called Levee. The adaptation is set to premiere on December 18, 2020, on the streaming platform. Watch the official trailer below.
