With the highly-anticipated second season of The Mandalorian just around the corner, LEGO has celebrated its upcoming release in the best fashion it knows how: by building a life-sized Baby Yoda aka The Child in his very own levitating crib.
The expert build consists of a whopping 14,588 bricks, taking three master builders a staggering 119 hours to craft. While this particular model hasn’t been produced for sale, Baby Yoda fans will still have various options from the toy company, including the character’s 1,037-piece standalone model, a cuter BrickHeadz set along with Mando himself, and a tiny version of him included in the recent Razor Crest set.
As for season two of the show, a new TV spot has given fans a closer look at what’s to come, including the return of Gina Carano’s Cara Dune, Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga, and Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon wielding a menacing darksaber. Previous reports have also revealed the appearance of Boba Fett, played the original prequel’s Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison, a new character portrayed by Timothy Olyphant, and involvement from Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.
14,588 bricks + 119 hours + 3 builders = 1 Big Build of the Child. This is the way. To celebrate Season 2 of The Mandalorian we’ve built a scale model of ‘the Child’. Check it out. pic.twitter.com/L8pi1HfFva
