The controversial take on the Clown Prince of Crime returns as actor Jared Leto has signed on to reprise his role as the Joker in Zack Snyder‘s extended version of Justice League, according to reports.
Leto’s Joker from 2016’s Suicide Squad will reportedly enter the definitive DC Extended Universe, along with stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher, who are to take part in reshoots for the $70 million reproduction. After a brief leave from the producer’s chair, DC Films quickly replaced Snyder with Joss Whedon of Avengers fame to finish the film. The Snyder Cut will, however, ditch Whedon’s directed scenes and utilize both retooled visual effects and cut lines.
Justice League: The Snyder Cut is now set to premiere sometime 2021 on HBO Max as a four-episode miniseries.
