Here’s a first look at Studio Ghibli’s upcoming theme park themed after a couple of the studio’s most successful movies.
The theme part is set to open in fall in 2022 at Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and it will incorporate attractions from cult Ghibli classics like Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Howl’s Moving Castle, to name a few.
Some images have been released showing two key locations, giving fans a rough idea of what the installations will look like. The two main attractions revealed are Howl’s Castle, which will stand 16 meters in height, and the “Mononoke no Sato” (Mononoke’s village), a forest attraction inspired by Princess Mononoke‘s Irontown.
