Balloon artist Masayoshi Matsumoto never ceases to outdo himself, each week adding new pieces to his lifelike balloon creature collection, and if you’ve been following him, you’ll notice he also posts step-by-step tutorials to his creations.
The Japanese artist has been playing with shape, shading, and expression in his works, rejecting any sort of adhesive and coloring materials, and instead opted for using only the stretchy balloon, pushing the boundaries of how detailed and intricate the artworks can become.
On his popular Instagram page, Masayoshi Matsumoto shares the creation process, depicting all the twisting, and turning he has to do, to complete each of his sculptures. “I find it rewarding to be able to help people through balloon art,’ the Japanese artist says, I also feel happy when I can create a work of art that I am satisfied with.”
“When they hear the term ‘balloon art’, many people imagine a poodle or such,” he explains, “but I would like people to realize that there is an area of this art form that takes time to create complex works too.” He also posts regular YouTube tutorials on his channel, hoping that more people will take on this incredibly creative and fun art form.
