As museums and art institutions are slowly allowed to open, London’s Tate Modern welcomes visitors to its new exhibition of work by Yayoi Kusama “Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms.” The exhibition focuses on two large-scale installations by the Japanese artist.

One of the installations featured at the exhibition, Infinity Mirrored Room – Filled with the Brilliance of Life was created for Kusama’s 2021 retrospective at Tate Modern. The other one, Chandelier of Grief, creates an endlessly repeating series of rotating chandeliers.

Alongside the two installations, the exhibition also features a new work titled The Universe as Seen from the Stairway to Heaven, which utilizes reflectable surfaces and a colorful dot pattern to create a “peep-in” sculpture that builds on the themes of the Infinity Mirror Rooms, and a display of film and photography that presents historical context for the installations as well as documenting Kusama’s creative process.
