The Old Vic Theatre in London will welcome Amy Herzog’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play 4000 Miles directed by the theatre’s artistic director Matthew Warchus in April next year. The greatest attention to the play is owed to scene-stealer Timothée Chalamet’s role as 21-year-old Leo, which will mark Chalamet’s debut on a London stage, with Eileen Atkins on the rostrum as well.
4000 Miles tells the story of family grief and follows Leo as he cycles across America with his best friend. After weeks of no communication, Leo suddenly appears in the middle of the night at the Manhattan doorstep of his 91-year-old grandmother Vera, and the pair become unlikely roommates.
The play’s exceptional cast abounds with intimate beauty and truth, and surely will not disappoint. The tickets will be available from December 3, and the dramatic comedy will run at The Old Vic from April 16 to May 23, 2020.
