This July, a renowned luxury house Balenciaga will be presenting its Couture show in Paris.
This marks Balenciaga’s first Couture show in 50 years, long after its founder Cristóbal Balenciaga shut the doors to his atelier in 1968. The brand’s current creative director and Vetements founder Demna Gvasalia has decided to reopen it for the FW20 season.
“For me, Couture is an unexplored mode of creative freedom and a platform for innovation. It not only offers another spectrum of possibilities in dressmaking, but it also brings the modern vision of Balenciaga back to its sources of origin.”
