To celebrate the 25 years since the release of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, the railway company JR (Japan Railways) is set to create a special Pixar-themed bullet train that will be exclusive to southern Japan, on the island of Kyushu, running between stations in Hakata, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima.
Without ever forgetting Pixar’s iconic lamp which will be placed near the nose of the train, other notable characters like Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie will be printed along its body. The space between the characters will be colored in bright shapes that should represent the different prefectures that makeup Kyushu. Of course, the train will be decorated from the inside too, with the brightly colored Kyushu patterns and seat covers that feature characters Wall-E, Nemo, and Dory. Those who ride the train will be given an original flag and a special commemoration certificate.
Starting from Hakata station, the train will start its rounds on September 12, 12:19 p.m. JST.
