Acclaimed American portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz, renowned for her portraits of most established talent and vast array of celebrities, opened up her official Instagram account a couple of days ago and already amassed a generous following of just under 65K.
She posted three pictures – the first one (below) is her mother Marilyn, photographed in 1997, followed by a candid portrait of Malala Yousafzai (2016) marking the International Day of the Girl, and the third one of speaker Nanci Pelosi, the last two photographed for Vanity Fair. It seems the account will serve as an archive of her most notable work, as Instagram is becoming a staple platform for emerging and already established photographers to share their work. RollingStone and Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz’s prolific career is unparalleled, as she took portraits of some of the most notable faces, including John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Keith Richards, Queen Elizabeth II, Patti Smith, Meryl Streep, Leonardo di Caprio and many more.
