In a pursuit to make the handset completely wire-free, Apple is rumored to ditch the charging port on its future iPhone devices, following the now years old headphone jack removal.
According to TF International Securities analyst known for his Apple product predictions Ming-Chi Kuo, we could see the disappearance of the lightning charging slot—introduced back in 2012—a potential future of the flagship device. This would leave users no choice but to charge the phone wirelessly, and it is expected to happen only to the highest-end, flagship iPhone models.
