Becoming an unlikely fashion phenomenon in 2017, the IKEA’s now-iconic tote bag FRAKTA finds another purpose in the form of a face mask.
The Beijing-based designer-artist Zhijun Wang—famous for his sneaker masks collected by MoMA NYC, Takashi Murakami, Jeff Staple, and more, which he has been handcrafting since 2013 after the city witnessed a heavy smog in winter due to mass industrialization, took the familiar blue and yellow shopping bag to pay his tribute to the fashion sensation, and cleverly employ it as a face mask much needed in the times of the coronavirus outbreak.
