Sam Pilling teams up with DJ Shadow again – after their first collaboration on the award-winning “Nobody Speak” (with Run The Jewels) – to direct the music video for the new De La Soul-featuring track “Rocket Fuel”.
Taking on the internet conspiracies that the moon landings were all fake, the result is a remarkable screwball comedy, Sam Pilling’s most ambitious video to date. After Armstrong wins a game of rock-paper-scissors, he gets the chance to take the first step on the moon. Then, the situation goes out of hand: on the moon, at mission control… and also on the movie set where Stanley Kubrick directs the “moon landing”, not long after the Russians get involved.
“Rocket Fuel” will appear on DJ Shadow’s forthcoming album, which is expected to arrive later this year. Check out the brilliant video below.
