The Unlocked music festival, taking place in Northern Ireland, will be the first socially distanced music festival in the United Kingdom this August, organized under strict rules on hygiene and distances in place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Precautions like temperature checks on entry, and distances across bars, campsites, and queuing will be put in place throughout the event, while there will also be hundreds of hygiene stations to stay clean. Despite the planned capacity of only between 500 and 1,000 people, the government’s policies on mass gatherings are yet to come in August. The line-up is also yet to be announced and a full guide to social distancing is available on the festival’s website. Points include potential alcohol limitations to ensure rules distancing rules are adhered to and the maximum number of people per tent.
The tickets will go on sale starting from July 4 on the festival’s website that will take place over two weekends (August 21-22 and 28-29).
