Releasing an unfinished green screen video for her Miss_Anthropocene track “You’ll Miss Me When I’m Not Around,” Grimes invited her fans to finish the video themselves.

In the video, she is seen wielding a sword and spreading her metallic wings in front of a green screen, along with providing fans with the assets that they can download. The assets include snippets for the shoot as well as audio files so that fans can build up their own visual from scratch.

Initially intended as a visual for five lyric videos, Grimes changed her mind and decided to give her fans a chance, writing: “Because we’re all in lockdown we thought if people are bored and wanna learn new things, we could release the raw components of one of these for anyone who wants to try making stuff using our footage,” as well as suggesting cheap or free audio and video editing software to use, and instructions on how to upload fan versions so she can share her favorite ones on social media.
