Radiohead’s lead guitarist and keyboardist Jonny Greenwood is set to score Spencer, a Princess Diana biopic. Directed by Pablo Larraín, the film will feature Kristen Stewart in the titular role, and explores Diana’s failing relationship with Prince Charles over three days at the royal family’s Sandringham Estate.
“I always thought this person was stolen from us and I always had a curiosity about her,” Stewart said in an interview last year. “Every day that I unfold this story the more emotionally invested I get.” The news about Greenwood’s involvement in the biopic follows the release of a first-look photo of Kristen Stewart as Diana.
Greenwood has previously released soundtracks for the Joaquin Phoenix-starring hitman thriller You Were Never Really Here and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread (having collaborated with the director on several films, including the 2015 documentary Junun). In 2019, meanwhile, he launched the classical music label Octatonic.
