A couple of days ago, Selena Gomez called actor Timothée Chalamet via livestream on Instagram, while he was standing in line at Madison Square Garden to vote, to talk about the importance of voting in the 2020 U.S. election.
“Right now I’m literally voting, at my early voting station in New York at Madison Square Garden,” he said, “which feels particularly metaphorical because I’ve seen many great things happen here. So I’m hoping another great thing happens today.”
During the live moment, Timmy turned the camera to show viewers the long line of people waiting to vote and said, “It’s really moving to see this many people show up. It feels like people are motivated.”
Selena Gomez has been using social media to encourage her fans to vote ahead of the 2020 U.S. election. Last week, she shared a photo to 194 million Instagram followers after she’d voted, and said: “Just finished filling out my ballot!” The post has already been liked by over nine million people. The actor hasn’t been quiet either, making his thoughts on the election very clear, after he took to Instagram to speak his mind on Donald Trump and encourage his followers to “vote that fucker out”.
