Scrutinizing its Gen-Z users, Tinder has revealed its year-end report and assembled a list of top trends experienced this year.
The support for the BLM movement is leading this year’s “Essential Trends” with phrases like: “If you don’t support BLM, we aren’t gonna work.” The number one spot was followed by pandemic-related requests in users’ bios like the concerns for hygiene and masking wearing.
Of course, 2020 wouldn’t be it without TikTok. Sitting among the top five trends seen from Gen-Z users was the incorporation of TikTok mentions. The incorporation of TikTok and being “TikTok Famous” grew eight times in 2020. When it comes to music, the top spot goes to Cardi B’s “WAP,” followed by Drake and Lil Durk’s “Laugh Now Cry Later,” and DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch’s “ROCKSTAR.”
