Locked down with her sister and friends Cara Delevingne and Kaia Gerber, Rainsford gathered the perfect quarantine dream team for her newest music video. “Crying In The Mirror” follows the recent single “2 Cents” and sees Kaia and Cara as actress/director respectively.
The song speaks about Rainsford’s unusual habit of watching herself cry in the mirror, something she found out not to be so unusual. “I wrote it after a breakup,” she tells i-D, “when I was essentially begging my ex to get back together… which we did, briefly, but it didn’t last.” “…It must be some kind of coping mechanism to confront feelings so directly, but I think there’s also an element of self-indulgence”.
They also invited British actor and Pretty Little Liars star Gregg Sulkin to play the partner role, resulting in a silky smooth slow-paced pastel-colored music video that perfectly suits the sad synth-pop vibes of the song.
